The Department of Environmental Management will temporarily close the Honokaʻa Transfer Station on July 21 and July 22 for tree trimming work. The facility is expected to reopen July 23.

Due to the nature and location of the tree work, it’s not possible to safely allow vehicles into the facility.

To help meet community needs during the closure, the Paʻauilo Transfer Station will be open for an additional day from 6am to 6pm.

For questions about transfer station hours, contact the Department of Environmental Management at cohdem@hawaiicounty.gov or (808) 961-8800.
