76 UH Hilo student-athletes placed on the D2 Athletic Directors Association Academic Achievement Award for posting a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher through the end of the 2024-25 school year.

A total of 22,756 NCAA Division II student-athletes received recognition — 1,272 of them from Pacific West Conference member schools.

“Our Vulcans student-athletes continue to raise the bar on the field and in the classroom,” 11th-year Hawai’i Hilo director of athletics Patrick Guillen said in a press release. Guillen continued, “Their ability to juggle demanding course loads, rigorous travel schedules and relentless hours of training and competition is nothing short of remarkable. Congratulations on another outstanding year of academic success.”

The conclusion of the previous school year marked a new record high with Vulcans student-athletes combining for a 3.32 overall GPA.
