Department of Water Supply Conducting Hydrant Flow Tests in S. Hilo and North Kona

On Thursday, March 4, 2021, the Department of Water Supply will conducting fire hydrant flow tests in S. Hilo and North Kona between 10:00p.m. and 11:00p.m.  Affected areas may experience slightly discolored and turbid water for several hours after the test. Customers are advised to refrain from washing clothes and to store a container of water for their drinking needs until the supply of water is restored to normal.

Affected areas in South Hilo include the Sangha Hall Property between Kīlauea Avenue and Kinoʻole Street and between Kūkūau Street and Aʻala Lane before Hualālai Street.

South Hilo customers can Mr. Carl Nishimura, District Supervisor at 961-8790 with any problems during or following the test.

North Kona areas include residential areas within Hōlua Kai at Keahou Homeowners Association, within the Hōlua Resort at Mauna Loa Village Property off of Kaleiopapa Street including Mika Drive, Hōlua Drive, Hōluakai Street, Hōluakai Loop and any side street lanes.

North Kona residents experiencing any unusual problems during or after the flushing period should call Mr. Darren Okimoto, District Supervisor, at (808) 322-0600.
