The Hawaii Department of Transportation (HDOT) is advising Keaukaha motorists of utility work on Kalanianāʻole Avenue taking place between March 21 and April 22, from 8 am to 4 pm, weather permitting.

The project consists of installing underground cable, needed for fiberoptic connectivity.  Work begins at the Hawaiian Telcom roundabout pullbox when leaving the intersection of Kamehameha Avenue (Route 19) and Kanoelehua Avenue (Route 11) and ends within the portion of Kalanianāʻole Avenue previously closed for the Kalanianaole Avenue Improvements.

There will be no additional lane closures or lengthening of the existing closure for the installation. The plan is to shift traffic at the pullbox location to an adjacent lane so motorists can skirt the work zone and maneuver to enter the roundabout safely.

In addition, HDOT anticipates the start of a nighttime paving project between Kauhane Avenue to approximately 300 feet west of Silva Street the first two weeks of April.
