CARE Hawaii’s mission is to provide a comprehensive array of mental health and addiction services to promote the physical, emotional, spiritual, and educational development of all identified clients and their families/significant others.
CARE Hawaii’s philosophy is that a collaborative partnership between CARE Hawaii service providers and consumers of behavioral health services creates an environment in which consumers may fully integrate into the community. CARE Hawaii believes that recovery and wellness are attainable for all consumers and that consumers thrive best when participating in service provision choices and receiving services based on evidence based best practices. CARE is dedicated to employing providers who are trained and skilled in collaborative work with consumers and in evidence based practices and to providing ongoing training, supervision, and quality assurance activities as well as providing an effective and accountable administrative support structure for service delivery.
CARE Hawaii services which renders treatment and restorative interventions in assisting consumers to gain access to necessary medical and rehabilitative services to reduce psychiatric and substance abuse addiction symptoms and develop optimal community living skills. Services include, but are not limited to, crisis assessment and intervention, individual restorative interventions for the development of symptom monitoring and management skills, administration and monitoring of medication, and self-medication, and treatment for substance abuse or other co-occurring disorders. Services may be provided to consumers in their home, work, or other community settings.
The goals of services include the realization of recovery and vocational and personal goals; the lessening or elimination of debilitating symptoms of mental illness; the minimizing or prevention of recurrent acute episodes of the illness through rehabilitation and progressive treatment interventions; ensuring consumers have the basic needs and skills for sustaining community living and enhancing their quality of life; improving or establishing new linkages with a variety of community services and mobilizing the involvement of the consumers’ support network; maintaining consumer engagement
in treatment; and promoting harm reduction, substance use reduction, abstinence, and recovery for consumers with co-occurring substance abuse/addiction by providing substance abuse services.
