Hilo Medical Center is opening a drive-through COVID testing site in the parking lot across from the hospital.  The testing site will open Tuesday and will be open weekdays from 10 in the morning to 2 in the afternoon.  Hours of operation will be extended as more testing supplies become available.

If you have an unexplained fever for more than 2 days or persistent or worsening cough, please call your primary care provider to discuss whether COVID testing is right for you.

If your provider orders a test, you can drive to the testing site in the parking lot next to the  cancer center building at 1285 Waianuenue Avenue. There will be signs to direct you. Please bring your official identification and insurance information.

If you do not have a primary care provider or insurance, we will still provide testing, but you will need to present to our Emergency Department for screening and testing.

Please keep you and your families safe by washing your hands often, covering all coughs and sneezes, and maintaining a three-foot distance in all public places. If you develop a fever stay home until the fever is gone. Check with your primary care provider if you feel you need an office visit.
