US tops 132,000 cases; worldwide 704K

On Sunday, March 29, 2020, at 7:30 a.m. HST,  the Johns Hopkins COVID-19 Dashboard reports that the United States tops the worldwide count with 132,627 confirmed cases of COVID-19.    Italy  has nearly 98,000 cases, followed by China with just over 82,000.   Worldwide, cases stand at 704,095.  The Dashboard is interactive, with data input from around the world, and constantly updates.

According to a Sunday briefing by New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, New York State has the most cases, reported at 59,513.  New Jersey has 11,124.  California follows with 5,565.  Other states in the Top 10 list include Michigan, Washington, Massachusetts,  Florida, Illinois, Louisiana, and Pennsylvania.

The CDC has issued a Travel Advisory warning people from New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut not to travel unless absolutely necessary to help avoid spreading COVID-19.

As of Saturday, Mar. 28, at noon, the Hawaii State Department of Health reported 151 confirmed cases of COVID-19, 10 of which are on the Big Island.  Hawaii County Mayor in his Sunday morning 8 a.m. Civil Defense message, said Hawaii County had 11 cases.

Deaths from COVID-19 reported worldwide number 33,509.  Italy has had  10,779 deaths.   In the United States, 2,351 deaths have been reported.

The Dashboard notes that 148,824 people are reported as recovered.
