A new COVID-19 screening and testing site is coming to Kona.

Aloha Kona Urgent Care will be conducting drive-through screening and testing clinics in Kona at their Pottery Terrace location, 75-5995 Kuakini Hwy, Kailua-Kona on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., starting this Saturday, April 25, and continuing until further notice.  Those interested are asked to bring their own pen.

These free clinics are open to the public; however, individuals will first undergo an on-site screening by a clinic physician to determine if they meet the criteria to be tested.  The screening criteria will be based on guidance of the CDC and the State’s COVID-19 Response Task Force.  Generally the screening criteria includes direct exposure to a confirmed COVID-19 patient, having symptoms such as fever or dry cough or difficulty breathing or loss of taste or smell, or travel to or from a place with lots of COVID-19.

People who visit the screening clinic will be asked to show photo ID. Additionally, people are requested to bring any health insurance cards they have, although insurance is not required.

To pre-register, or if you have any questions, call 808-854-3566

There are a number of ongoing  testing sites around the island.  Additionally, there are two pop-up screening and testing sites this week:

Friday, there is screening and testing at the Honoka’a Sports Complex’s lower level, from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Access is through the Akia St. entrance.

Saturday, there is screening and testing at Kamehameha Park in Kapa’au from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.  **  New time, updated Friday 4/24
