Hawaii State Department of Health says 2 O’ahu residents and one Hawaii resident currently outside the state have been diagnosed as positive for COVID-19.  This brings the State’s case count to 604, of which 482 have been released from isolation.

Hawaii County has a total of 69 cumulative cases, 47 of which have been released from isolation.  There are now 36 cases associated with the cluster at three McDonald’s restaurants in Kailua-Kona, including 19 employees and 17 household contacts. DOH continues to monitor this cluster closely.  At least 2 people who’ve been infected in  Hawaii County are or have been hospitalized, one at Kona Community Hospital and one who had to be flown to O’ahu.

There is one new case associated with the cluster at Maui Memorial Medical Center, bringing the total of COVID-19 positive cases to a total of 57 people, of which 37 are staff members and 20 are patients. DOH is monitoring this cluster closely.

Governor Ige says in view of the State’s 14 deaths and more than 600 cases of COVID-19, and after consulting with the four County Mayors, he has issued an order extending the State’s “stay at home” order through May 31.  This also extend the State’s mandatory 14-day quarantine for anybody flying into the State or flying interisland (with some exceptions) until May 31.  Friday afternoon, the State Department of Transportation announced strengthened and stringent procedures they are now following when anybody arrives in the State, to ensure they have a place to stay, that they understand the quarantine rules, and that they understand the penalties if they break the quarantine.

More than 27,000 tests for COVID-19 have been conducted as of noon today, and today there were COVID-19 testing sites around the state.  Tomorrow there is a COVID-19 testing site at Hilo Civic Auditorium, and there are testing sites throughout the island all week.
