The Hawaii County Fair, which was scheduled for September 17 through 20 in Hilo, is cancelled for this year.

The Hawaii Country Fair Foundation’s President  Kelton Chang, and partners E.K Fernandez LLC/Carnival Events said it would be not possible to hold the fair with the social distancing and crowd size limits in place as required by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Chang said they intend to return in 2021.
