New U.S. cases nearly 30K, but deaths low

The Johns Hopkins COVID-19 Dashboard for Sunday morning, June 21, at 7:33 a.m.:

Worldwide cases: 8,842,537   Worldwide deaths:  465,462

U.S. cases: 2,267,387   U.S. deaths:  119,796

The worldwide cases increased by 125,552 in the last 24 hours, and worldwide deaths by 4,256.

According to the Dashboard, the United States has added 29,322 cases in the last 24 hours, and deaths attributed to COVID-19 have increased by 504.  The case count is higher than the two-week average of around 22,000, and the death count is lower.

In Hawaii since June 1, 151 new cases have been confirmed and announced by State Department of Health.  Hawaii Island has had 83 cumulative cases, and as of Saturday, 2 were active.   The Sunday morning Civil Defense message says only one is now active.  Most of the Hawaii Island cases have been in the North Kona area, but there have been cases in the Hilo and Puna areas.  Click here for more.
