The Johns Hopkins COVID-19 Dashboard for Wednesday morning, June 24, at 8:41 a.m.:

Worldwide cases:  9,323,932   Worldwide deaths: 479,215

U.S. cases: 2,364,874   U.S. deaths:  121,662

According to the Dashboard, the worldwide cases increased by 169,700 in the last 25 hours,  and confirmed worldwide deaths grew by 5,565.

According to the Dashboard, the United States has added 15,918  cases in the last 25 hours, and deaths attributed to COVID-19 have increased by 383.

Health experts nationwide are concerned about spikes in COVID-19 counts in around half the states.

The Washington Post says that seven states are reporting new highs for current coronavirus hospitalizations— Arizona, Arkansas, California, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Texas.

Today, Gov. Andrew Cuomo of New York, Connecticut Gov. Ned Lamont and New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy held a press conference and announced a joint travel advisory that requires people arriving from states with high coronavirus rates to quarantine for 14 days.  The initial 9 states are Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, Texas, Utah, and Washington.  Gov. Cuomo said if other states show big increases in COVID-19 cases they will be added to the list.

The Dow Jones dropped around 700 points, which analysts say is because of the continuing spike in cases in  several states.

Hawaii’s case count increase on Tuesday was 3, and on Mondy 4, significantly less than the case increases in previous days.  The state currently shows 819 cumulative cases, with 673 released from isolation.  Hawaii County has 85 cumulative cases, with 82 released from isolation, or 3 active cases.
