Big Island now has 13 active cases–state adds 20

Hawaii has added 20 new COVID-19 cases as of noon on Saturday.  The state’s cumulative total is now 1,354, with 1,019 released from monitoring by the State Department of Health.   As of last evening, the state has lost 24 people to COVID-19, with the death of a woman on O’ahu who the State DOH classified as “elderly.”

The state says 140 people have required hospitalization.

Hawaii County has 2 more cases, bringing the island to 111, with 98 released from isolation and monitoring, so 13 active cases.  According to Hawaii County Civil defense this morning, one Hawaii Island person is still hospitalized.

Three of the cases have not yet been assigned to a county, and the rest of the cases are on O’ahu –15 new, bringing O’ahu’s total to 1,040 with 758 released from isolation and monitoring by State DOH.

Neither Maui County nor Kaua’i added any cases.

Deaths: 0

 

Maui County

Total Cases: 135
Released from Isolation: 121
Required Hospitalization: 25
Deaths: 6

 

Out of state

Total Cases: 22
Released from Isolation: 0
Required Hospitalization: 2
Deaths: 1

 

Pending

Total Cases: 3
Released from Isolation: 0
Required Hospitalization: 0
Deaths: 0
