The state has 28 new confirmed cases of COVID-19, according to the State Department of Health.   The state’s cumulative case count now is 1,381 with 1,043 released from isolation.  None of the new cases are in Maui County nor on Kaua’i.  The state has suffered 24 deaths, with the latest reported last Friday evening.

There are also 3 cases listed as “pending,” that are not in the county-by-county count.

O’ahu  has 26 more cases.  One was removed from O’ahu’s count, due to updated information.  O’ahu’s total count is now 1,065, with 780 released from monitoring and isolation.

Hawaii County has two more cases, bringing the island’s cumulative count to 113, with 13 active cases still being monitored by the State Department of Health.   Although cases of COVID are spread around the island (see map below), right now there is a known cluster in employees at Kona Community Hospital, which includes at least one non-hospital employee community member who took her child to the Emergency Room for a broken arm.  There are 3 employees at the hospital confirmed with COVID-19.  Last Thursday and Friday, all employees and contractors at the hospital were tested, along with all patients, which turned up no new positive cases--although three of the tests are still being processed or reviewed.  The hospital will conduct another round of testing for all staff doing patient care on July 20, and test all employees and contractors again on July 24.

On Saturday, Premier Medical Group did a drive through testing at West Hawaii Civic Center for any community members or relatives of hospital staff who might be concerned about COVID.  Those results are not available yet.
