The Hawaii Food Basket is back with their ‘Ohana Food Drops!  The employees of the Food Basket took a much-needed break last week, and today will distribute food at Afook Chinen Auditorium starting at 10 a.m.  Friday they will do a Food Drop at Waimea District Park starting at 10 a.m.

Kristin Frost Albrecht, Executive Director of the Hawaii Food Basket, says they welcome anybody who needs food.  She says they realize with the extended unemployment because of COVID-19 shutdowns, combined with the end of the additional Unemployment Insurance payments provided by the Federal Government, their demand will be increased.

Everybody coming is asked to stay in their vehicle, and the volunteers — including members of the Hawaii National Guard — will place the food in the trunk or back seat.   They ask that you clear out the area where the food is to be placed.

Frost Albrecht has expressed gratitude for the many generous donors who are making the food distributions possible.
