Kelden Waltjen to be new County Prosecuting Attorney **updated 4 a.m.

Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Kelden Waltjen will become the County’s Prosecuting Attorney on December 7, 2020.

 

Waltjen finished the Primary on August 8 with 51.57% of all votes cast.  As a nonpartisan position, if a candidate gets more than 50%, he or she is elected in the primary.

Waltjen is 33, and a graduate of St. Joseph High School, University of Hawaii at Hilo and the University of Hawaii at Manoa’s Richardson School of Law.  He is a Deputy in the office he will soon lead.

The final tally below is Printout 2, released at 9:30 p.m.  The Sunday, 8/9 1:17 a.m. Printout 3 shows only minor changes but the same result:
