7 months in, US has 7.2M COVID cases –207,147 deaths

The Johns Hopkins COVID-19 Dashboard for Thursday, October 1, at 5:23 a.m.–7 months after the U.S. started being fully aware of the COVID-19 pandemic and the wide spread of the novel coronavirus:

Worldwide cases:  34,048,240    Worldwide deaths: 1,015,429

U.S. cases: 7,241,449   U.S. deaths:  207,147

According to the Dashboard, the reported worldwide case report increased by 328,375 in the last 24 hours.  Deaths worldwide increased by  6,080.

According to the Johns Hopkins Dashboard, the United States has added 46,527 cases in the last 24 hours.  In that time,  the number of reported deaths from  COVID-19 increased by 895.

In Hawaii, the official state case count is 12,410, with 1,976 active.  The State DOH is reporting 136 deaths.  On Hawaii Island, the case count is 730, with 102 active cases.  Yesterday, 27 new cases were confirmed on the island.  The island also lost one more person to COVID-19 at the Yukio Okutsu Veterans Home, bringing the island’s death toll from COVID-19 to 29.  The state so far has only included 15 of the deaths in its official count.
