Hawaii County is urging people who think they may have been around others with COVID, or have symptoms, or are with a large number of people, to get tested for COVID-19.  The County has released a list of free test sites this week, starting with today, behind Regal Cinemas at Keauhou Shopping Center from 9 a.m. until noon.

The tests are free, though please bring your insurance card if you have insurance.   The County release says individuals will not have a co-pay.  This comes at a time when over the last two days the case count on the island has jumped by 58 (43 on Saturday, 15 on Sunday). University of the Nations in Kona confirmed it has at least 26 cases, with at least 22 community spread, from its students/ members being out in the Kona community.

The testing is drive-through.  Below is the County’s test schedule:

  • Monday, October 5, Keauhou Shopping Center, 9:00am-Noon
  • Tuesday, October 6, Honoka‘a Sports Complex, 9:00am-1:00pm
  • Wednesday, October 7, Keauhou Shopping Center, 9:00am-Noon
  • Wednesday, October 7, Civic Auditorium, Hilo, 3:00pm-6:00pm. Please enter from Kuawa Street entrance.
  • Thursday, October 8, Waimea District Park, 9:00am-1:00pm
  • Friday, October 9, Keauhou Shopping Center, 9:00am-Noon
  • Saturday, October 10, venue in Kona to be announced, 9:00am-1:00pm.

Please be sure to wear a face covering at all times, and observe social distancing.
