NaLeo to air forums for State and County offices tonight, Thurs

NaLeo TV is airing two nights of live candidate forums, featuring general election candidates who seek to represent portions of one of the fastest-growing districts in the state – Puna.  The forums will be moderated by Ilihia Gionsen, who is U.S. Representative Tulsi Gabbard’s Hawaii Island liaison, and also founded Hiehie Communications.

This evening, the forum begins at 6:30 p.m., featuring the following candidates:

State House District 3: Susan Hughes

State House District 4: Hope Cermelj & Desmon A. Haumea

State Senate District 2: Joy San Buenaventura & Ron G. Ka-Ipo

Thursday, there will be two County races on the agenda, starting at 6:30 p.m.:

County Council District 5: Matt Kanealiʻi-Kleinfelder & Ikaika Rodenhurst

Hawaiʻi County Mayor: Mitch Roth and Ikaika Marzo

Both nights will air locally on Spectrum Channel 54, online at naleo.tv/channel-54/, and streaming on the NaLeo TV   free mobile app.

NaLeo TV has also aired several other candidate forums, which are available On Demand at naleo.tv  under Videos on Demand.  Other groups have also done candidate forums on their Facebook pages.

The Monday, Oct. 5 Office of Hawaiian Affairs Mayor forum moderated by Ilihia Gionsen and Mahina Paison-Duarte,  aired on Na Leo TV and also may be found at the Facebook page for Office of Hawaiian Affairs.

On Tuesday, Oct. 6, Big Island Thieves had a Mayor discussion moderated by T. K. Wershing which may be found at the Facebook Page for Big Island Thieves.

Waimea Community Association has had forums for Mayor and County Council District 1 (Waimea-Hamakua-Hilo), moderated by James Hustace with members of the Waimea Community Association,  at www.facebook.com/WaimeaCommunityAssociation
