Ali’i Health, one of the County’s community testing partners, is offering free COVID-19 testing today at Keauhou Shopping Center from 9 until noon.  The test location is behind the Regal Cinemas building.  To get there, enter from the Kamehameha III side, and down the back access road that goes into Keauhou Shopping Center by Peaberry & Galette and the Regal Cinemas building.   The National Guard is on hand and will direct cars to the location.

Be sure to wear a mask, and bring a pen plus a hard surface to put the forms on to make it easier to fill them out (magazine, clipboard).  Bring insurance information if you have insurance, plus your photo I.D.  Make sure you know your Social Security Number.  Note that everybody, no matter who or why, is encouraged to get tested, with or without insurance.  There is no charge.

The County has contracted with several providers to offer free testing around the island.  The Big Island is second to O’ahu in the daily case count increase, and currently has 1,052 total COVID cases, with approximately 249 active cases.

As of Sunday’s data, those residing in Zip Code 96740 (Kailua-Kona) and 96738 (Waikoloa Village, Waikoloa Resort) had 4.5% positivity rates, higher than the state’s 7-day average positivity rate of 2.5%.
