Hawaii County is offering free COVID-19 testing today by Ali’i Health at Keauhou Shopping Center from 9 a.m. until noon.  Testing is drive-through, behind Regal Cinemas.

The County is using CARES funds to cover any co-pay for those with insurance, but please bring your insurance card.  Insurance is not necessary, and the County urges people to get tested.  Around 40% of people with COVID-19 are known to be symptom-free, or have very minor symptoms.  However, those people can spread COVID-19 to those more vulnerable.

Many of those affected recently are younger, and less likely to get ill or need hospitalization.  Mayor Kim has said many recent cases are the result of people gathering without masks.

People do not need to have symptoms to get tested.

Bring a photo ID, and bring your own pen and a hard surface like a magazine or clipboard to make it easier to fill out the information and consent form.
