The Johns Hopkins COVID Dashboard for Thursday, November 12, at 5:25 a.m.:

Worldwide cases: 52,304,064      Worldwide deaths:  1,287,051

U.S. cases: 10,415,779   U.S. deaths:  241,907

According to the Dashboard, the reported worldwide case report increased by 667,065  in the last 24 hours.  Deaths worldwide increased by 11,927.

According to the Johns Hopkins Dashboard, the United States has added 145,168 cases in the last 24 hours.  This is the seventh day in a row the new cases have been greater than 100,000.   In the last day,  the number of reported deaths from  COVID-19 increased by 2,061.

The University of Washington’s Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation, considered one of the foremost health data organizations, is now predicting that based on the current trajectory and behaviors,  the U.S. could reach nearly 400,000 deaths by February 1, 2021.

In Hawaii, Hilo Medical Center had 5 people hospitalized — none in the ICU — as of Tuesday afternoon.  Kona Community Hospital reported on Monday that it had 5 people hospitalized.  Three are in the ICU, and two of those are on ventilators.  Hawaii County Civil Defense reported there are 12 people in the hospital on the island.  North Hawaii Community Hospital will not release the number of those hospitalized with COVID-19.

The State of Hawaii Department of Health says the state’s count of COVID-19 cases is 16,088.  The Big Island’s total case count is 1,413.  Hawaii County Civil Defense says the virus on this island is not being brought in by travelers but is spreading within the island resident community.
