COVID-19 testing is going on today at Kamehameha Park in North Kohala until noon.  This is County-sponsored testing, and the County has pledged no charge.

Hawaii County Civil Defense also says there is testing on Wednesday at Afook Chinen Civic Auditorium in Hilo from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m.   There is also testing Wednesday at Konawaena High School from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m.  These tests are under Hawaii County, which has pledged to cover any co-pays.

Hawaii County Civil Defense calendar lists drive-through testing on Thursday at Waimea District Park from 8 until noon, and Friday there is walk-up testing at Pahala Community Center.

On Friday, Ali’i Health will test at Keauhou Shopping Center from 9 until noon.  There is more information at the Ali’i Health web site.

Ali’i Health will also do COVID-19 testing at West Hawaii Civic Center on Saturday from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.

Also on Saturday, there is COVID-19 testing at Afook Chinen Auditorium in Hilo from 8 a.m. until noon, and at Kea’au High School from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m.

Testing is drive-through, via car, truck, moped, or motorcycle (bicycles not mentioned, but one would assume that would qualify).  Everybody must wear a mask.  Please bring your photo I.D. and your insurance card if you have one, although insurance is not required.

Much of this testing is covered by the Federal funding via the CARES Act, which will expire this month.   No symptoms are needed to get tested.  The CDC says around 50% of the cases are now being spread by people with no symptoms.

There is more about County-sponsored testing at the Hawaii County Civil Defense web site, or call Civil Defense at 808-935-0031.
