The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the Big Island summits.  The Advisory is in effect from 2 p.m. today until Friday evening at 6 p.m.

The NWS says a mix of rain, snow, and freezing rain is expected on Big Island summits, and that road conditions on Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa will be hazardous.  Roads will be slippery, and visibility limited.  The NWS advises caution while driving.

The NWS is also predicting rain, heavy at times,  for much of the island.
