The Carolina Hurricanes won’t play their next two games due to a rising number of COVID-19 issues within the organization. In a statement from the NHL, Carolina’s facilities have been shut down “until further notice” and games through Jan. 23 have been postponed because five players have been placed on the COVID Protocol Related Absence List:

Carolina’s game against the Nashville Predators on Tuesday was postponed because of COVID-19 protocols. The team were scheduled to host the Florida Panthers for two games on Thursday and Saturday.

The NHL’s coronavirus protocols state that players who are added to the COVID-19 list must exhibit no symptoms and return two consecutive negative tests over 48 hours before they are allowed to return to team-related activities.
