Police Renew Request for Assistance in Locating Missing Kaʻū Man

Hawaiʻi Island police are renewing their request for the public’s assistance in locating a 38-year-old Kaʻū man who was reported missing more than a year ago.

Christopher-Jay K. Baird was last seen in the Hawaiian Ocean View Estates subdivision in Kaʻū on November 30, 2019. He is described as a local male, medium build, 5 feet 3 inches tall, 160 pounds, with short brown hair and brown eyes. He is also known to frequent the Kailua-Kona area.

Police are asking anyone with information on Baird’s whereabouts to call the police department’s non-emergency line at (808) 935-3311, or contact Detective Tyler Prokopec of Area II Criminal Investigations Section at (808) 326-4646, Ext. 224, or via email at Tyler.Prokopec@hawaiicounty.gov.
