(AP) — Kaiulani Diamond Kekahuna of Hawaiʻi won first place at the World of Wrestling 2021 Reno Worlds in the 65-pound weight class. The Hawaiʻi girl is 9 years old. She’s a third-grader at Kamehameha Schools Kapalama campus. She’s been wrestling since she was 3. Her father, who is also her coach, says she trains by competing against the best Hawai’i boys in her weight class. KHON-TV reports she defeated Mireya Barraza of New Mexico in the quarterfinal, Harley Miller, of Oklahoma in the semifinal and Mylah Henebry, of Idaho in the final.
