Montreal Canadiens defeat Toronto Maple Leafs in Game 7 Stanley Cup Playoffs

The Montreal Canadiens’ won Game 7 against the Toronto Maple Leafs with a score of 3-1 at Scotiabank Arena to advance to the second round of the Stanley Cup playoffs.

Montreal made an impressive comeback in a series that saw them trail the North Division semifinal series 3-1 before winning Games 5 and 6 in overtime, and forcing Monday nights showdown which gave them the series win. Montreal’s Carey Price turned away 29 of the 30 Leaf shots, with Brendan Gallagher and Corey Perry scoring second-period goals and Tyler Toffoli adding another goal towards their win.

The Habs now move on to face the Jets in Game 1 in Winnipeg Wednesday night, with the Round 2 series winner representing the North Division in the third round.
