(AP) — Firefighters in Hawai’i have rescued an 11-year-old girl who was injured while hiking on a mountain range east of Honolulu. KHON-TV reported that the Honolulu Fire Department responded about 9:30 a.m. Monday to a report of a young girl who fell while hiking on the Wiliwilinui Ridge Trail with family. Authorities said the family was hiking for about two hours when the girl fell, injuring her arm. Rescue crews airlifted the injured hiker and her mother, who was not injured, to a landing zone for treatment. She was then taken to a hospital in serious condition. No other injuries were reported.
