Wailoa River State Recreation Area will be closed from Thursday July 22, 2021 through Saturday July 24, 2021 due to the installation of dry wells that will be used to prevent flooding in the parking lot.  Also during this time, a water bottle filing station will also be installed and portions of the main entry roadway will be repaved.  The overall cost of the project is $193,734.

These closures and projects will affect the main entry road area to the pavilions but other portions of the park including the Kamehameha Statue and the Wailoa Center will remain open.
