The Hawai‘i Police Activities League (HI-PAL) is congratulating all the winners and participants involved in the Back to School Keiki Fishing Tournament that took place on Saturday, July 17, 2021, in Laupāhoehoe.

Participants included 24 keiki aged 5 to 17 who vied to catch fish to win prizes. In addition, each student received a backpack filled with school supplies. All the fish caught were weighed and then released back into the ocean.

The Hawai‘i County Police Department is expressing gratitude to officers from the Departments of Land and Natural Resources, the State of Hawaii Aquatics Division, and the County of Hawai‘i Department of Parks and Recreation for their support in assisting with the tournament and providing the participants with numerous fishing and hunting educational materials and lessons.
