Hawai‘i Island police are asking the public to help them identify suspects involved in a theft investigation regarding a hydraulic jack hammer.

On the morning of Tuesday, August 24, 2021, Puna patrol officers responded to a report of a theft that occurred at a residence in Ainaloa. Video surveillance depicts two suspects wearing full face Japanese “Kabuki” type masks while removing the large tool.  The suspects were also observed operating a white early 2000 model, lifted Dodge pickup truck with a primer black hood and off-road tires.
The vehicle and suspects may have also been involved in other unrelated incidents in the Hawaiian Paradise Park, Ainaloa, and Hawaiian Beaches neighborhoods.

Police are asking anyone who may have information regarding this incident to call Officer Scott Hammons at (808) 965-2716, via email at Scott.Hammons@hawaiicounty.gov.
