The Hawai‘i County Police Department is teaming up with The Food Basket Inc. and Costco for the first annual Fill A Cruiser Food Drive event taking place this Friday, September 3, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Kona Costco.

During the event, the Kona Community Policing Section will have a marked police cruiser parked in front of Costco and members of Costco and the general public can donate nonperishable food items. Members of the public can place the donated food items on a table fronting the store or into the police cruiser.

All nonperishable food items will then be distributed to the Food Basket, who will in turn provide it to residents of Hawai‘i Island in need. Officers will adhere to all County mandated social distancing guidelines maintaining six feet distance and wearing of masks.
