This October, Oʻahu based military units are scheduled to conduct essential training activities at Pōhakuloa Training Area.  These activities may be heard by surrounding communities but pose no immediate danger.  Weather, such as overcast conditions can increase noise and vibrations

Essential training is subject to change based on safety, weather and other environmental factors.

The planned training is schedule for the following dates:

• Oct. 1-22 Marine Small Arms, Mortars/Artillery and Aviation Gunnery (1200 Personnel)

• Oct. 7-21 Army Unmanned Aerial Systems(UAS) (50 personnel)

• Oct. 28 Marine Osprey Tilt Rotor Aircraft Gunnery (20 personnel)

UAS training can occur 24 hours a day, seven days a week.  There are no convoys planned currently, however, U.S. Army Public Affairs will notify the community when convoys from PTA to Kawaihae Harbor are expected to occur.

Hunting planned for the month of October 2021 is as follows:

• Oct. 23-24 Lottery, Archery, Mammal, Keamuku Maneuver Area 1, 2, and 3

• Oct. 30-31 Lottery, Archery, Mammal, Keamuku Maneuver Area 1, 2, and 3

For more information on hunting at PTA, please visit the PTA hunt Facebook page at www.facebook.com/groups/HuntPTA or e-mail Brian Leo at pohakuloa.hunting@gmail.com.

To report concerns related to noise or training, contact U.S. Army Garrison at Pohakuloa at (808) 969- 2411 or michael.o.donnelly.civ@mail.mil. Concerns are responded to during regular business hours, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.-4 p.m
