As of October, 18, UH Hilo has been approved by the County of Hawai’i to allow fifty-percent capacity for volleyball and soccer games. Women’s and men’s soccer playing at the UH Hilo Baseball Stadium and women’s volleyball playing in the Vulcan Gym will be allowed up to 500 fans.

Attendees must follow the following protocols:

  • Spectators must be fully vaccinated. A minor under the age of 12 may attend with a parent/legal guardian (masking required). A person is considered fully vaccinated for COVID-19 when more than two weeks has passed since receiving the second dose in a two-dose series, or when more than two weeks has passed since receiving a single-dose vaccination.
  • All fans planning on attending UH Hilo sporting events are encouraged to download the LumiSight UH app which will allows guests to upload their vaccination card and fill out a quick assessment of their current state of health. This app will validate vaccination cards, so it will not be necessary to bring a hard copy.  Those incapable of downloading the LumiSight UH app, will need to bring a a physical copy of their vaccination card and show it upon arrival.
  • Spectators must wear face coverings at all times with the exception of removing their face covering to briefly drink or eat.
  • Fans must physically distance themselves while sitting in appropriate areas.

Soccer fans are only allowed to sit in the baseball stadium bleachers and may not go down to the field or anywhere else.  Volleyball fans must also be physically distanced and wear masks for the entire duration of their attendance. The Vulcan Gym bleachers will be marked off accordingly to comply with physical distancing practices.

UH Hilo Athletics will start accepting spectators for upcoming women’s and men’s soccer home games on Tuesday, October, 19 when they are set to play against Concordia Irvine at Noon. and 2:30 p.m HST.  Cash only tickets will be sold at the gate. Ticket prices include: $5 for adult general admission, $4 for senior citizens (65+) and $5 for middle/high school students. UH Hilo and HCC students will be admitted free of charge when they show their valid student ID.  The games will continue to be video live streamed and live stats will be available online.

The next home game for UH Hilo Women’s Volleyball will take place at 7pm on November, 4 at the Vulcan Gym against Academy of Art.  Cash only tickets will be sold at the gymnasium entrance.  Ticket prices include: $10 for adult general admission, $5 for senior citizens (65+) and $5 for middle/high school students.
