Hawaiian Telcom reports an interruption of service to their landline customers in the Kona, Keauhou, and Waikoloa areas due to a severed fiber-optic line.  Customers in adjoining service areas may also be affected.  Hawaiian Telcom has located the cause of the interruption and is working to restore service as quickly as possible.

Cellular telephones are not affected by this interruption and are able to call 9-1-1.
