Department of Public Safety COVID-19 Update

COVID-19 testing is continuously being conducted in the state prisons and jails as well as in the contracted Saguaro Correctional Center in Eloy, AZ.  The Department of Public Safety (PSD) continues to encourage all staff and inmates to voluntarily get tested and receive the COVID-19 vaccination.

The latest testing updates received for the correctional facilities are as follows:

Women’s Community Correctional Center – 137 inmate test results; 13 positive, 124 negative.

Oʻahu Community Correctional Center – 114 inmate test results; 2 positive, 112 negative. 6 positive staff test results.

Kauai Community Correctional Center – 52 inmate test results; 3 positive, 49 negative. 2 positive staff test results.

Hawaiʻi Community Correctional Center – 11 inmate test results; 1 positive, 10 negative. 3 inmates have recovered. Two (2) positive staff test results. 3 staff have recovered.

Halawa Correctional Facility – 80 inmate test results; 1 positive, 79 negative. 2 staff have recovered.

Maui Community Correctional Center – 1 positive staff test result.  3 staff have recovered.

Waiawa Correctional Facility – 2 staff have recovered.

 

COVID-19 updates for other PSD Divisions are as follows:

Administrative Division – 2 positive admin employee test results.

Sheriff Division – 2 Sheriff Division employees have recovered and returned to work.
