U.S. Congressman Ed Case (HI-01) announced that Hawai’i will receive $61,101,570 from the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Transit Administration as part of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Package.

“The funds will enable transportation agencies throughout our state to buy new buses, address their repair backlogs, modernize their fleets, and transition to new technologies to address the climate crisis,” said Case in a press release.“

The first round of funds from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Package in December amounted to $49 million for Hawaiiʻ’s airports.  Followed in January with $339 million of funding over five years to repair and maintain the state’s bridges and culverts.
