Kawamoto Pool in Hilo will be temporarily closed due to an unanticipated mechanical issue. Staff is working to address water quality and water clarity issues following an unexpected shutdown of the pool’s filtration system Sunday night.

The earliest the pool may potentially reopen is on Monday, April 25.  A public notice will be issued when the pool has been restored to safe swimming conditions.  The County swimming pools at Laupāhoehoe and Pāhoa Aquatic Center are the nearest options for those that want access to a public swimming pool.
