Hawaiʻi Island police are asking the public to help them locate 33-year-old Drosstain Pua of Kona as well as a second unidentified male suspect.  Both are wanted for questioning in connection with an attempted murder investigation that took place in Ocean View on Sunday, July 31.

Pua, also known as “Hano,” is described as being  5 feet 10 inches tall in height and weighing 175 pounds with brown eyes and brown hair. He is known to frequent the South Kona and Ocean View areas.  Pua is considered armed and dangerous.  The second suspect is described as a local male in his 40s with a thin build, light complexion, brown eyes and brown hair.  He is said to be approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall with an unknown weight.

Ka‘ū patrol officers responded to a residence on Bamboo Lane in Ocean View after a male reported being at home when two male suspects carrying firearms forcibly entered his residence, assaulted him, and fired a weapon in his direction. The victim was treated on scene by Hawai‘i Fire Department paramedics for injuries sustained during the incident.  No one else was injured during this incident.

HPD is advising the public to avoid contacting Pua directly. The suggest calling the police department’s non-emergency number at (808) 935-3311.

Anyone with information on Pua’s whereabouts is encouraged to contact Detective Anson Caceres at (808) 326-4646 Ext. 225, or via email at anson.caceres@hawaiicounty.gov.
