The Hawai‘i Police Department is sponsoring its 19th annual Cop on Top fundraiser for Special Olympics Hawai‘i with events at Hilo and Kona Walmart today through Saturday, August 27 at 3pm.

During the multi day event, law enforcement officers stay perched on top of a 15-foot scaffolding at the east and west Hawai‘i Walmart locations, eating, sleeping and raising awareness for Special Olympics Hawai‘i within the community.

Donations collected from Cop on Top directly benefit Special Olympics Hawai‘i.  Since 2001, Cop on Top events have raised more than $3,437,236 for Special Olympics Hawai‘i athletes statewide.
