The Montreal Canadiens announced they have signed Cayden Primeau to a new three-year contract worth $2.67M. The team said in a release that the one-way deal carries an average annual value of $890,000 and will pay Primeau $770,000 in 2022-23, $800,000 in 2023-24, and $1,100,000 in 2024-25.

Drafted in the seventh round by the Canadiens in 2017 and entering his fourth professional season, the 23-year-old Primeau was 1-7-1 in nine starts last season, posting a 4.62 goals-against average and .868 save percentage. He has a 3-10-2 record in 18 career NHL games.
