Hawaiʻi Island Lane Closures: Week of November 28

The Department of Transportation has announced a number of lane closures throughout Hawaiʻi Island during the week of November 28, 2022.  Below is a detailed list of scheduled roadwork and maintenance:

 

VOLCANO ROAD/ MAMALAHOA HIGHWAY (ROUTE 11) 

KURTISTOWN TO MOUNTAIN VIEW

Single lane closure on Volcano Road (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile markers 9 and 13, North Road and S. Enos Road, on Monday, Nov. 28, through Friday, Dec. 2, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

BETWEEN VOLCANO AND PAHALA

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile markers 47 and 49 on Monday, Nov. 28, through Friday, Dec. 2. 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

KUAKINI HIGHWAY (ROUTE 11) 

HONALO

Single lane closure on Kuakini Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile marker 113.9 and 114, vicinity of Honalo Road, on Monday, Nov. 28, through Friday, Dec. 2, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for the Kuakini Drainage Improvements.

HAWAII BELT ROAD (ROUTE 19) 

HAKALAU (24/7 RESTRICTION)

Single lane closure over Nanue Bridge at mile marker 18.5 on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) for bridge repair. Details at https://hidot.hawaii.gov/highways/nanue-bridge-weight-restriction-will-be-lifted-at-noon-friday-sept-2/

NINOLE

Single lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile markers 18.5 and 20, vicinity of Piha Kahuku Road on Monday, Nov. 28, through Friday, Dec. 2, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

LAUPAHOEHOE

Single lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile markers 24 and 25, vicinity of Piha Kahuku Road on Monday, Nov. 28, through Friday, Dec. 2, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. for vegetation cutting. 

QUEEN KAAHUMANU HIGHWAY (ROUTE 19) 

KAILUA-KONA

Single lane closure on Queen Kaahumanu Highway (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile markers 96 and 99, vicinity of Ala Nui Kaloko Road, Monday, Nov. 28 through Friday, Dec. 2, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. for vegetation cutting and storm drain maintenance.

KOHALA MOUNTAIN ROAD/HAWI ROAD (ROUTE 250) 

KOHALA

Single lane closure on Kohala Mountain Road (Route 250) possible in either direction between mile markers 9 and 13 on Monday, Nov. 28, through Friday, Dec. 2, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for road resurfacing.

KOHALA

Single lane closure on Hawi Road (Route 250) possible in either direction between mile markers 15 and 19 on Monday, Nov. 28, through Friday, Dec. 2, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

 

DANIEL K. INOUYE HIGHWAY/SADDLE ROAD (ROUTE 200) 

WAIAKEA

Single lane closure on Saddle Road in either direction between mile markers 10 to 15 for shoulder work and drainage Monday, Nov. 28 through Friday Dec. 2, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
