County Opens Shelters Amid Severe Weather

Hawaiʻi County officials have opened shelters at the Old Airport Gymnasium parking lot in Kailua-Kona and the Waimea Community Center as severe weather continues. The shelters will remain open until further notice.
Yesterday, all Hele-On routes were canceled due to weather conditions and public safety concerns. County officials will update the public when regular service resumes.
