Hawaiʻi National Parks Announce 2023 Fee-Free Dates

The National Park Service will provide free admission to three Hawaiʻi national parks on five dates in 2023.

The free 2023 entrance dates include:

  • January 16 – Martin Luther King, Jr. Day   
  • April 22 – First Day of National Park Week   
  • August 4 – Great American Outdoors Day  
  • September 23 – National Public Lands Day  
  • November 11 – Veterans Day   
In addition, the 2023 Tri-Park Pass is now available for purchase for $55. The pass provide a full year of admission to Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Park, Puʻuhonua o Hōnaunau National Historical Park, and Haleakalā National Park.  

Other passes offered by the National Park Service include the annual $80 America the Beautiful National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Pass  which allows unlimited access to more than 2,000 federal recreation areas, including all national parks.  There are also free or discounted passes available for currently serving members of the U.S. military and their dependents, military veterans, Gold Star Families, fourth grade students, disabled citizens, and senior citizens.
