Yesterday afternoon, Congresswoman Jill Tokuda visited Kona Community Hospital. During a tour of the facility, members of the executive team highlighted their emergency services and medical surgical units and shared background on the hospital’s deferred maintenance, staffing needs, as well as future plans to modernize the hospital’s data systems. Employees discussed the challenges of rural access to care.

Of her visit, Congresswoman Tokuda said, “My main takeaway today is that rural healthcare matters. Access matters.”
