On Saturday, May 20, the East Hawaiʻi Cultural Center will host a free panel discussion on community perspectives on policing entitled Community and Policing: Where were we, where are we, where will we go?
During the public event, which will take place from 10am – Noon, distinguished community leaders will address police-community relations (with a historical perspective), the impact of incarceration on families and the community, and analysis of a new survey conducted by UH-Hilo students.
This program is funded by a grant from the Hawai‘i Council for the Humanities, through support from the National Endowment for the Humanities. Any views, findings, conclusions, or recommendations expressed in this panel discussion do not necessarily represent those of the National Endowment for the Humanities.
