Hawaiʻi Island Lane Closures: Week of June 26

The Department of Transportation announced a number of Hawaiʻi Island lane closures during the week of June 26, 2023. Lane closure schedules may change without notice at any time. All projects are weather permitting.

MAMALOHA HIGHWAY (ROUTE 11) 

KEAAU

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile markers 6 and 8 between Liilii Street and Old Volcano Road on Monday, June 26, through Friday, June 30, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

PAHALA

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile markers 53 and 55, between Hilea Road and Kalaiki Road on Monday, June 26, through Friday, June 30, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting. 

CAPTAIN COOK

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile markers 91 and 93, in the vicinity of Ohia Maul Road on Monday, June 26, through Friday, June 30, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

KUAKINI HIGHWAY (ROUTE 11) 

HONALO

Single lane close on Kuakini Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction in the vicinity of Nahenahe Loop and Hooper Road on Monday, June 26, through Friday, June 30, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for Kuakini drainage improvements.

HAWAII BELT ROAD (ROUTE 19) 

HAKALAU

Single lane closure possible in either direction between mile markers 53 and 55 at Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) and Old Mamalahoa Highway on Monday, June 26, through Friday, June 30, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

HONOKAA

Single lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction at Kalopa Road on Monday, June 26, through Friday, June 30, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. HECO will be replacing substandard utility poles and restringing overhead lines.

 

KAWAIHAE ROAD (ROUTE 19) 

KAMUELA

Single lane closure on Kawaihae Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile markers 63 and 67, between Waiula Drive and Queen Kaahumanu Highway Monday, June 24, through Friday, June 30, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting with excavator behind guardrails.

KOHALA MOUNTAIN ROAD (ROUTE 250) 

KAMUELA

Single lane closure on Kohala Mountain Road (Route250) possible in either direction between mile markers 6 and 11, in the vicinity of Kohala Ranch Road on Monday, June 26, through Friday, June 30 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for resurfacing and reconstruction of a weakened shoulder.

PAHOA-KALAPANA ROAD (ROUTE 130) 

PAHOA

Single lane closure on Pahoa-Kalapana Road (Route 130) possible in either direction between mile markers 10 and 15, between Keaau-Pahoa Road and Alaili Road, on Monday, June 26, through Thursday, June 30, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for guardrail vegetation removal.

MAMALOHA HIGHWAY (ROUTE 190) 

KAILUA-KONA

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 190) possible in either direction between mile markers 17 and 26, in the vicinity of Puu Lani Drive Monday, June 26, through Friday, June 30, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for safety improvements and installation of shoulder extension.
