Three UH Hilo men’s basketball student-athletes landed on the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Honors Court as the Vulcans overall earned a 2022-23 NABC Team Academic Excellence Award for outstanding achievement in the classroom.

Nadjrick Peat, Drew Yezbak and Aniwaniwa Tait-Jones finished the school year with a cumulative grade point average of 3.2 or higher while the men’s basketball team achieved a combined GPA of 3.30 for the 2022-23 school year.

The NABC Team Academic Excellence Award recognizes men’s basketball programs that completed the 2022-23 academic year with a team GPA of 3.0 or higher. The NABC Honors Court, meanwhile, includes juniors, seniors and graduate students who finished with a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher.

The NABC’s academic awards include over 1,800 players and over 300 programs from all levels of college basketball.
