While searching for a missing opihi picker, a Hawaiʻi County dive team recovered a male body from the water. The body was transported to the Hilo Medical Center where an autopsy has been scheduled to determine the exact cause of death. According to the HPD, they are holding off on confirming that it may be the 39-year-old Hilo male opihi picker reported missing yesterday as they await positive identification and notification of next of kin. Detectives with the Area I Criminal Investigation Section are continuing the investigation.
